Aubra H. Anthony, president and CEO of Anthony Forest Products Co. of El Dorado, has been elected chairman of the American Forest & Paper Association.

Anthony, a lawyer who once was in private practice in Washington, is familiar with the way the nation's capital works, according to a news release. AF&PA is the national trade association of the forest, paper and wood products industry and is based in Washington, D.C.

Also a current director of the Arkansas Forestry Association, Anthony said, "We are going to take a hard line approach to illegal logging around the world, continue our excellent work to level the international playing field and promote fair trade in forest and paper products, and pursue legislation and standards that recognize the superior environmental benefits of building with wood."

Family-owned Anthony Forest Products operates two sawmills, two wood chip mills, two wood laminating plants and a log home division. With Domtar Inc. of Montreal, it operates an I-joist plant at Sault Ste. Marie in Ontario.
