Gov. Mike Huckabee will address the state at 8:30 p.m. from the governor's reception room at the state Capitol, the governor's office said.

The governor will speak about today's events in New York City and Washington, D.C., where airplanes crashed into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.

The governor's address will be telecast live by the Arkansas Educational Television Network. Other local affiliates will likely carry the speech as well.

The governor is returning from the canceled Southern Governors' Association meeting in Lexington, Ky., and is expected to be back in the state by no later than 5 p.m.
