State Launches Surplus Auction Site

1 min read

People can buy, via the Internet, items declared Arkansas state surplus at www.arstatesurplus.com.

Gov. Mike Huckabee on Tuesday announced the launch of an Arkansas online auction site designed to sell everything from computer monitors to chairs declared surplus by the state.

The online site is tied into the Arkansas Administrative Statewide Information System and follows the same principles as eBay.com and government auction sites in states including California, Maryland, Oregon, Texas and Virginia, Huckabee said.

The system lets users to browse surplus, bid on it and have it shipped to them.

Arkansas’ online auction site was developed by the marketing and redistribution division of the Office of State Procurement, which is part of the state Department of Finance and Administration. The AASIS Team and the Information Network of Arkansas also worked on the project.
