Health Advantage Names New CEO

David Bridges has been named president and chief executive officer of Health Advantage, the state's largest health maintenance organization.

Bridges was the company's chief operating officer and interim president and CEO before the promotion.

Health Advantage is jointly owned by USAble Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield, and Baptist Health HMO Inc. Health Advantage has more than 170,000 members with a network of more than 4,000 health care providers and 90 hospitals.

Bridges is a native of Fort Smith and has a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway.

He has worked with Blue Cross and Blue Shield for 24 years. He has been a manager of customer accounts, executive director of the company's Enterprise Operations, vice president of operations for USAble Administrators and vice president of claims administration for USAble Life.
