Waiting on college football season to start can be agonizing. To pass the time we’ve been thumbing through a collection of national preseason magazines.

We’ll be looking at a different magazine each day the rest of the week, checking out how they break down the season. It’s not quite as exciting as kickoff or those first two-a-days (or even media days), but it’s the best we’ve got for now.

Here’s what Lindy’s Sports has to say about the…

ARKANSAS RAZORBACKS
PROJECTED CONFERENCE FINISH:
  No. 3 SEC West
NATIONAL RANK:  No. 9
2012 CONF. RECRUITING RANK:
No. 12
ALL-CONFERENCE PICKS:
QB Tyler Wilson (first-team); RB Knile Davis (first); WR Cobi Hamilton (first); OL Alvin Bailey (first); TE Chris Gragg (second); C Travis Swanson (second); RB Dennis Johnson (second); P Dylan Breeding (second); K Zach Hocker (third); LB Alonzo Highsmith (third); DB Eric Bennett (third).
NOTABLE:
RB Knile Davis is named as a Second Team All-American; Tyler Wilson is ranked as the 3rd best quarterback in the nation behind USC’s Matt Barkley and Michigan’s Denard Robinson; Arkansas is rated the No. 1 backfield (quarterbacks and running backs) in the country; Tyler Wilson is projected as the SEC Offensive Player of the Year.

SPEAKING OUT
“They won’t miss Bobby Petrino’s baggage, but the Hogs are bound to miss his offensive mind and the tone-setting work ethic. Successor John L. Smith doesn’t have an easy road because fan expectations of competing for a national championship soar, even with Petrino fired. Defense was a strength at the Cotton Bowl, but still must improve for Arkansas to crack through the LSU/Alabama barrier.”
