Waiting on college football season to start can be agonizing. To pass the time we’ve been thumbing through a collection of national preseason magazines.

We’ll be looking at a different magazine each day the rest of the week, checking out how they break down the season. It’s not quite as exciting as kickoff or those first two-a-days (or even media days), but it’s the best we’ve got for now.

Here’s what Lindy’s Sports has to say about the…

ARKANSAS STATE RED WOLVES
PROJECTED CONFERENCE FINISH:
  No. 2 Sun Belt
NATIONAL RANK:  No. 90
ALL-CONFERENCE PICKS:
QB Ryan Aplin (first team); WR Josh Jarboe (second); WR Taylor Stockemer (second); DL Dexter Blackmon (third).
NOTABLE:
QB Ryan Aplin is tabbed as the Sun Belt’s Most Valuable Player. He is also named the league’s “Best Scrambler” and “Coolest in the Clutch.”

SPEAKING OUT
“The Red Wolves are going to need to duplicate their 2011 offensive performance while the defense rebuilds if they are to capture a second consecutive conference title. With Ryan Aplin at quarterback, they have a shot, especially if they can win an early conference test at FIU on Oct. 4.”
