Acxiom Corp. is scouring the West Coast for its next big batch of programmer talent.

Last week, the Little Rock data company held an open house at its Foster City, Calif., location with CEO Scott Howe and recently appointed Chief Product & Engineering Officer Phil Mui in tow.

The company deluged social media sites with notifications about the open house, popping up on Facebook, Twitter, Craigslist, LinkedIn, GlassDoor and others. Visitors were encouraged to "join us for free food, drinks & swag."

"If you're an out-of-this-world software engineer, product manager, designer, tester - or just an all-around tech genius - Acxiom wants to talk to you," the ads said.

Apparently, Acxiom, founded in 1969, has "the fresh new spirit of a start-up."

The company announced earlier this year that it was hiring between 300 and 400 employees as part of a $30 million research and development initiative.
