Mike Flory Wins Premier Illuminating Excellence Award (Movers & Shakers, July 23, 2012)

Education
Mike Flory recently won the 2012 Premier Illuminating Excellence Award for educational food services at the Premier Healthcare Alliance Foodservice Forum. Flory was recognized for his work improving food quality and facilities as executive director of dining services at Hendrix College in Conway.

Dennis Rittle has been hired as the vice president of academic affairs at Ozarka College in Melbourne. Rittle previously served as dean of academic affairs at Brown Mackie College in Salina, Kan.

Financial Services
Matt Boyd has been promoted to senior vice president and senior credit officer at Simmons First Bank of Searcy. Boyd has more than 17 years of experience in financial services and has been with Simmons First for seven years.

Government
Sherri Grad was named Municipal Clerk of the Year by the Arkansas Municipal League at its annual spring meeting. Prior to taking the position as Fort Smith city clerk about 18 months ago, Gard served as assistant city clerk for 14 years.  

Health Care
Dr. Ihab Herraka and Dr. Clint Wood have joined Sparks Health System. Herraka recently completed a fellowship at the University of Florida at Gainesville and will practice at the Gastroenterology Center in Fort Smith. Wood is an interventional radiologist specializing in neurovascular treatments. He graduated from the University of Arkansas and received his medical training from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.

Insurance
Charlie Hadfield received the Cecil Cleavenger Young Agents Award from the Independent Insurance Agents of Arkansas at its annual convention. Hadfield is vice president of agency operations and sales at the Hadfield Agency in Little Rock.

Media/Marketing
Renee Preslar of Conway has been hired as a public relations account executive at Mangan Holcomb Partners of Little Rock. Preslar previously was deputy public information officer for the Arkansas Department of Emergency Manage-ment. She graduated from the University of Central Arkansas with a bachelor's in communications.

Brooke Austin has joined The Retail Outsource, an agency specializing in sales performance that is based in Florida. Austin will work as a national account manager from her home office in Fayetteville. Before taking the position, Austin was a business development manager at Shopper Events of Rogers. She earned a bachelor's degree in marketing management from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.

Transportation

Judy McReynolds has been named to the Transportation Industry Council of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. Along with the other members of the council, McReynolds, who is president and CEO of Arkansas Best Corp. of Fort Smith, will provide feedback that will make its way to Washington and help in making policy decisions.

Rick Green of Van Buren has been hired as a senior account executive at Con-way Multimodal Inc. at its Bentonville location. Before joining the company, Green worked as an independent contractor for six years and was with USA Truck Inc. of Van Buren for 24 years. Green has also served three terms in the Arkansas House of Representatives.
