Running back Knile Davis watched from behind the huddle as the Razorbacks scrimmaged on Saturday. He went through drills, but didn't participate in the live tackling portion of the night.

It seems increasingly unlikely he'll see live action until the season starts. Coach John L. Smith said as much in the press conference when asked (for the 1 millionth time) about the plan for Davis, who suffered a season-ending ankle injury last year in preseason camp.

“We have a philosophy: get the good guys to the game.”

Arkansas opens 2012 on Sept. 1 against Jacksonville State.

Sounds like things are headed in the direction we figured last week.
