Bobby Petrino has already made his way back to the college football sidelines. Well, not in a full-time capacity.

Petrino took in practice at Alabama-Birmingham on Tuesday and met with the Blazers’ staff. UAB Coach Garrick McGee was the offensive coordinator at Arkansas under Petrino.

"It's always good to have him around," McGee told the Birmingham News. "He's an expert at what he does. Anytime you can have an expert in the building it's always good."

McGee is one of five former Petrino players/coaches on the Blazers’ staff.

Petrino, who declined comment to the Birmingham News, is without a program this season, following his dismissal from Arkansas in April. He has acted as a consultant for several teams, including the Cal Bears and Tennessee Titans.

How long until Petrino is back on the sidelines for good?
