Chancellor Hotel Poised to Open Sept. 14

A ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the official opening of The Chancellor Hotel in Fayetteville is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 14.

The 15-story redevelopment of the former Cosmopolitan Hotel at 70 N. East Ave. features 207 guest rooms, 15 luxury suites and 14,000 SF of meeting and event space.

The movers behind the project are Sam Alley, chairman and CEO of Little Rock’s VCC general contracting firm, and Ike Thrash, president of Dawn Properties of Hattiesburg, Miss.

The venture includes the work of Flick Mars architectural firm of Dallas, interior designer Tobi Fairley of Little Rock and landscape designer Chris Olsen of Botanica Gardens.

Fayetteville restaurateur Scott Bowman of Theo’s and East Side Grill fame will oversee the hotel’s restaurant, Union Kitchen + Drinks.
