Arkansas’ 34-31 loss to Louisiana-Monroe and subsequent fall from No. 8 to out of the Top 25 elicited a range of reactions.

Fans took to message boards, social media and talk radio to voice their displeasure. Doc Harper of the ArkansasExpats and I recorded this podcast. There was that whole disturbing “United We Stand” music video thing. John L. Smith and select players reacted on Monday to say they still believed in each other and the season.

Conspicuously missing from the chatter? Athletic Director Jeff Long.

Long, perhaps the most prolific AD in the country on Twitter, went nearly 60 hours between tweets. He was active Saturday afternoon prior to kickoff, then went silent until late Monday night when he delivered the following message:

“We're all disappointed in Sat, none more than S-As & Coaches We will pull together not apart Join us for RedOut to show support for players”

A redout? So that means no anthracite jersies Saturday against No. 1 Alabama?
