Arkansas State University will name Terry Mohajir as athletic director Wednesday.

Sources tell ArkansasSports360.com Mohajir was selected among three finalists. The announcement is set for 10:30 a.m.

Mohajir is a 1993 graduate of ASU and former defensive player, who has worked at Kansas since May 2011 as senior associate athletics director for external relations. Prior to working with the Jayhawks, Mohajir worked seven years at Florida Atlantic and helped lead a $70 million fundraising campaign for a new football stadium.

ASU began its search for athletic director in August after Dean Lee was reassigned. Lee spent a decade as the Red Wolves’ AD. Mohajir’s responsibilities at KU included overseeing marketing and game-day experience. While at FAU his responsibilities included development, ticket sales, corporate sales and media relations.

After graduating from Arkansas State, Mohajir worked at KU as a football assistant. He earned a graduate degree in sports management at Kansas and went from there to the University of Missouri Kansas City. Mohajir worked as AD for external relations from 1997-2004 until leaving for Florida Atlantic.
