Metroplan of Little Rock, the central Arkansas planning agency, has hired Little Rock multicultural marketing firm The Design Group to solicit feedback on improvements needed by underserved populations in central Arkansas.
The Design Group will design and distribute fliers in areas where they can reach people who are black, Hispanic, low income or disabled. The firm will also create radio and bus advertising, as well as print advertising for the likes of Spanish-language publications.
Metroplan is using $140,000 of a $1.4 million regional planning grant from the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development to fund the two-year contract with The Design Group. Most of the HUD grant will be used to create a plan for improving affordable, energy-efficient housing and transportation options in central Arkansas and fund some implementation of that plan.
