COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) — The way this season is going for Arkansas, coach John L. Smith has had to answer far more questions about his team's psyche than about its performance on the field.

Johnny Manziel threw for a school-record 453 yards and three touchdowns and ran for another score to lead Texas A&M over Arkansas 58-10 on Saturday for the Aggies' first Southeastern Conference win.

The Razorbacks were done in by a porous pass defense and three turnovers, as their once-promising season continued to crumble with a fourth straight loss.

Afterward, Smith was left to explain how he can keep his team positive in this terrible stretch.

"Let them know that you can't give up on each other," he said. "We haven't given up on anybody. You have to keep believing. 'Quit' isn't in our vocabulary, and you can't allow it to be."

Arkansas (1-4, 0-2) led 10-7 after one quarter before the Aggies (3-1, 1-1) scored 51 straight points to take the lead and cruise to the win. It broke a three-game losing streak to the Razorbacks, who beat A&M 42-38 last season after trailing 35-17 at halftime.

Manziel added 104 yards rushing to also break the school and SEC records for yards of total offense with 557.

"Manziel is awfully good, and he made a lot of good plays," Smith said. "He's something."

Tyler Wilson threw for 373 yards and a touchdown, but he threw two interceptions as Arkansas was shut out after the first quarter.

"Total yards and offense, we had a bunch," Wilson said. "Unfortunately, those don't turn into points."

Smith was impressed with the way Wilson fought throughout the tough loss.

"I think Tyler hung in there. I've got to continue to pat him on the back," Smith said. "Nothing at all to say negative about that young man. He took some shots today. They came after us and came after us, and came after us. We have to do a better job of protecting that kid."
