New Midtown Center Announced in Bentonville

1 min read

The city of Bentonville, Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and the Midtown Shopping Center announced Friday plans to redevelop the retail center into a new shopping and business center located at the northwest corner of the Bentonville City Square.

A 31,000-SF Walmart Neighborhood Market will anchor the new Midtown Center, with construction expected to begin by June 2013.

The new center also will have additional retail space to better serve the downtown needs and offer a variety of shopping options for the Bentonville Square, according to a news release.

The second and third floors will consist of office space, and a three-level parking garage will be integrated into the project. The garage is expected to help satisfy an increased demand for parking on and around the Bentonville Square.

"The new Midtown Center is a perfect fit for our community and embodies the values and history of our city, while adding shopping, office space and additional parking to accommodate Bentonville’s increasingly popular downtown events," Bentonville mayor Bob McCaslin said in the news release.
