Arkansas shouldn’t go untested this basketball season.

This year’s Razorback schedule includes seven eight games against teams ranked in the USA Today Coaches Preseason Top 25.

Games are set for No. 3 Kentucky, No. 5 Michigan, No. 9 Syracuse, No. 10 Florida and No. 17 Missouri. Also the Razorbacks will face either No. 21 Wisconsin or No. 15 Creighton in a tournament in Las Vegas.

Coach Mike Anderson said he prefers a demanding schedule for his players. He thinks the early tests will strengthen his team for a late run.

“I think we’ve got a schedule that’s going to take us in that direction in terms of developing this basketball team so we can be playing some of our best basketball in late February, March, and hopefully beyond,” Anderson said.

Last year the Razorbacks were 2-2 against opponents ranked in the Top 25 entering the game. Arkansas had wins against Michigan and Mississippi State on the way to an 18-14 overall record.
