Twin Peaks, Mellow Mushroom Coming to Little Rock?

Twin Peaks, a chain of restaurants not unlike Hooters, may soon reveal a new location in west Little Rock.

Have you heard that two new names are poised to join the menu of west Little Rock restaurants?

The names we've heard are Twin Peaks and Mellow Mushroom.

Twin Peaks, which like Hooters and Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery, is categorized as a "breastaurant" chain staffed by young women clad in revealing attire.

The double entendre name is a nod of recognition to its shapely servers, who model a variety of skimpy outfits that vary with holidays and special occasions.

Or so we've been told.

A leading scenario we heard involved Twin Peaks setting up shop at 10 Shackleford Drive. That would entail buying the closed Cozymel's, tearing it down and building a new breastaurant, er restaurant.

Twin Peaks, founded in 2005 and based in Addison, Texas, had at last count around two dozen locations in 10 states. Arkansas is virgin territory for the company.

Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers of Atlanta, on the other hand, already has a presence in Arkansas. The groovy pizza chain has restaurants in Fayetteville and Rogers.

We understand that Kevin Kestner, the franchisee behind the northwest Arkansas Mellow Mushrooms, is involved with the Little Rock effort, too.

Insiders have pegged the likely Little Rock location at the Dairyland Shopping Center, on the east end of the project anchored by the Kroger Marketplace at 16105 Chenal Parkway.

Mellow Mushroom, founded in 1974, is owned by Home-Grown Industries of Georgia Inc. Its 149 stone-baked pizza restaurants can be found in 17 states.
