Seven Arkansas Delta Projects to Receive $4.2M

The Delta Regional Authority has received $1.4 million in federal grants that it plans to leverage into $4.2 million of public and private investments for seven projects in the Arkansas Delta.

"Working to grow the economy and create jobs is our number one commitment to the people of the Delta. These investments continue our commitment to paving the way for a better future, a better Delta," said DRA chairman Chris Masingill in a news release announcing the grants.

The Delta Regional Authority is a federal-state partnership that is congressionally mandated to identify and provide investment to help grow the small business and entrepreneurial communities in the 252 counties and parishes of the Mississippi Delta.

The Arkansas projects received DRA investments are:

  • Arkansas City street paving, which received $125,215
  • Delta Center water delivery, Desha County, which received $259,505
  • Monticello public rail access, which received $275,000
  • Port of Crossett improvements, which received $200,000
  • RIDC infrastructure project, Cleveland County, which received $120,000
  • Trumann Innovative Workforce Development Center, which received $206,000
  • University Drive infrastructure, Pine Bluff, which received $250,000
