Have you noticed that Tropical Smoothie isn’t in downtown Little Rock’s River Market Ottenheimer Market Hall anymore?

The place closed on Nov. 3.

Owner Josh Inmon said he’s moving the restaurant to the Hickory Square shopping center in Benton, near Tinseltown movie theater. Inmon hopes to open the restaurant in early January.

The restaurant initially opened in May 2011 in a 500-SF River Market space, and in five months was the market hall restaurant with the highest sales, selling $124,565 worth of food. More recent food sales data was not immediately available from the city.

“Everything was fine there,” Inmon said.

However, moving the restaurant to a 1,500-SF building was an opportunity to expand, get into the Benton market and not have to buy new equipment to grow, he said.

Inmon and business partner Brad Newcomb also own a Tropical Smoothie on Broadway in Little Rock.
