The Arkansas Department of Workforce Services recently released its 2012 report on the state’s labor market and other economic indicators.
Included in the report are statistics regarding the top 10 occupations in Arkansas in terms of growth and the 10 occupations facing the greatest decline.
For example, the sector that comprises food preparation and serving workers is projected to expand by the most of any occupation, growing by 1,659 workers, or 7.58 percent, between 2011 and 2013. That would take it from an estimated 21,897 in 2011 to 23,556 next year.
The sector comprising farmers, ranchers and other agricultural managers, meanwhile, is expected to lose 938 jobs between 2011 and 2013, for a drop of 1.68 percent.
