Henderson State Holds Southwest Arkansas Industry Conference

Henderson State University in Arkadelphia will host the Southwest Arkansas Industry Conference on Tuesday.

The all-day event will take place in HSU's Garrison Center Banquet Room. The conference begins with breakfast at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 3:15 p.m.

The event provides resources for small businesses and manufacturers, including information on incentives, utility tax breaks, transfer programs, work opportunity tax credits, health care reform and career readiness.

Speakers include Bentley Story, director of business development at the Arkansas Economic Development Commission; Steve Sparks, director of the existing business resource division of AEDC;  Joe Franklin, assistant director of the state Department of Workforce Services; Randy Zook, president and CEO of the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce/Associated Industries of Arkansas; and Jerry Kelso, senior vice president of Crafton Tull of Little Rock.
