Garry Haferbier Joins Allen Engineering Corp (Movers & Shakers)

Cody Hopkins, co-owner of Falling Sky Farm in Marshall, has been awarded a $40,000 grant from the Hitachi Foundation’s Young Entrepreneurs Program. The program recognizes entrepreneurs for sustainable business practices and their efforts to alleviate poverty.

Education

Timothy G. Nutt has been named head of the special collections department of the University Libraries at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville after a nationwide search. Nutt had been serving in the position on an interim basis since February.

Energy

Christopher L. Franklin has been named chief financial officer at Alternative Hydrogen Solutions in Farmington.

Engineering

Garry Haferbier has joined Allen Engineering Corp. of Paragould as the rental sales manager. The added responsibility for Haferbier is part of a joint marketing agreement between Allen Engineering and Equipment Synergy International, where he will continue to serve as vice president of sales.

Financial Services

Randy Jones has been hired as vice president of lending at Liberty Bank of Arkansas in Searcy. Jones has more than 10 years of experience in the banking industry.

Doug Hailey of Maumelle has joined Arvest Bank as a mortgage lender in Conway. Hailey is a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association and the Faulkner County Board of Realtors. Prior to the move, he was with Regions Mortgage in Conway.

Marla G. Mitchell and Kelly J. Burris have received promotions at Simmons First National Bank in Pine Bluff. Mitchell, who serves as a commercial loan officer, was named vice president, and Burris, who serves as a branch manager, was promoted to officer.

Government

Mary A. McGehee has been named to the newly established National Advisory Committee on Racial, Ethnic & Other Populations, which will advise the Census Bureau. McGehee currently serves at the Health Statistics Branch of the Arkansas Department of Health as section chief for the survey unit.

Health Care

Keith David Stillwell has joined the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in the College of Health Professions, where he will serve as director of the clinical program in the new Center for Dental Education expected to open in January.

Melody Trimble has been named the Arkansas Hospital Auxiliary Association’s Administrator of the Year. Trimble serves as chief executive officer of the Sparks Health System and Summit Medical Center.

Susan Greenwood has received the American College of Healthcare Executives’ Senior Level Regent’s Award. Greenwood serves as vice president for quality, safety and risk management and nurse executive at St. Bernards Healthcare.

Alison Rose has been named senior project director in medical administration at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock. She was previously coordinator of home safety and regional programs for ACH’s Injury Prevention Center.

Dr. Paul Seib has been promoted to director and section chief of the pediatric cadiology program at the Heart Center at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. He is also the section chief of pediatric cardiology at the UAMS College of Medicine’s Department of Pediatrics. Seib was formerly interim co-director of ACH’s cardiovascular intensive care unit and a professor of pediatrics at UAMS.

Insurance

Liz Hubbard, Edgar J. Goral and Jeff Brinsfield have been hired by QualChoice of Arkansas in Little Rock, and Mark Johnson has been promoted. Johnson, formerly manager of provider contracting, has been named director of network services. Hubbard, formerly counsel at Windstream Communications of Little Rock, is the health insurer’s new associate corporate counsel. Goral, an actuary with more than 30 years of experience, is the new director of actuarial services. Brinsfield, who brings 14 years of experience with banking software, has been hired as vice president of information services.

Real Estate

Ryan Lasiter of the Doyle Rogers Co. in Little Rock, was recently elected to membership in the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in London, England. He is one of two Arkansas members of the RICS, which dates to 1868. Lasiter has also been has been appointed to a three-year term on the Arkansas Foodbank board of directors.

Jake Goodwin, an appraiser for Team Ag Real Estate & Appraisals since 2007, has completed the requirements to become a state-certified general appraiser. Team Ag specializes in poultry farm and rural property appraisals in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Louisiana.

Cynthia Eubanks has joined Pulaski Heights Realty in Little Rock as a real estate agent. A Little Rock Realtors Association Lifetime Million Dollar Producer and Multi-Million Dollar Producer with more than 30 years of experience, Eubanks was formerly with The Charlotte John Co. in Little Rock.

Technology

Jeremy Ausburn was recently hired by Allied Technology Group of Little Rock as a senior consultant. He was previously a certified security and compliance analyst with ABC Financial of Sherwood.

Danielle Daugherty has been promoted to vice president of American Imaging in North Little Rock. Daugherty was previously a business process consultant for the document management services company.
