Inc., the national business magazine, this month recognized the rapid job creation of digital ad agency Rockfish Interactive in Rogers.

Inc. featured Rockfish in the publication’s first-ever Hire Power Awards, which honored private businesses in the U.S. that have generated the most jobs between 2008 and 2011.

Rockfish ranked on Inc.’s Hire Power lists at No. 4 in the advertising and marketing industry category for creating 143 jobs. Rockfish also ranked No. 9 for job growth of 447 percent in a category for companies with 26-50 employees in 2008.

Inc. mistakenly listed Rockfish as an Ohio company — it has an office in Cincinnati — so Rockfish was not ranked under Arkansas in the awards’ Top by State category. Mitchell Communications Group of Fayetteville was the only Arkansas company that made it onto the Top by State list, with 51 jobs created since 2008.

CEO Kenny Tomlin founded Rockfish in 2006 in northwest Arkansas. Rockfish has about 200 employees and offices in four states and in India.
