Blytheville Firm Seeks $100,000 for Expansion

1 min read

A Blytheville firm that offers heating and air-conditioning services is seeking $100,000 from Mississippi County to help pay for a $450,000 expansion.

D&L Inc. wants to use money from the county’s 0.5 percent sales tax fund that is earmarked for economic development to help pay for a piece of property adjacent to its existing building and electrical infrastructure upgrades, said Clif Chitwood, economic developer for Mississippi County. Chitwood didn’t know the size of the property, and a spokesperson for D&L was unavailable last week.

The expansion would allow D&L to add 10 workers to its workforce of 75, Chitwood said. The workers would be hired during the next 18 months and be paid between $19 and $22 an hour as service specialists, Chitwood said.

Founded in 1978, D&L also offers electrical services, preventive maintenance programs and sheet metal fabrication.

The Quorum Court’s Planning & Development Committee will recommend to the full Quorum Court that it approve the money. The Quorum Court is expected to meet and vote on the request on Tuesday, Chitwood said.
