• The Arlington Resort Hotel & Spa in Hot Springs has been recognized by ConventionSouth, an event planning magazine, with two awards: the 2012 Readers’ Choice Award and the New or Renovated Meeting Site Award. The hotel’s 5,600-SF Crystal Ballroom was reopened in the spring, after a renovation that included new maple hardwood floors, carpet, drapes, large mirrors and paint. The ballroom’s crystal chandeliers were also cleaned, polished and refinished. “We work extremely hard to provide outstanding customer service to our guests, and we take great pride in our excellent facilities,” said Bob Martorana, general manager of the Arlington. “The reopening of the Crystal Ballroom this past spring undeniably enhanced our meeting space.”

• Delta Dental of Arkansas has received the 2012 CARTI Champion Award for its charitable efforts on behalf of the cancer care provider. “Over the past several years, Delta Dental has generously donated more than $100,000 towards the CARTI dental clinic,” said Jan Burford, CARTI president and CEO. “Their contributions have been instrumental in assisting CARTI in treating head and neck patients who often experience specialized dental issues related to cancer treatment.”

• The city of Fort Smith has been ranked 10th for its website FortSmithAR.gov in a nationwide survey of municipal websites by the Rutgers E-Governance Institute. “All departments have had some hand in the success of the city’s e-governance efforts …,” said Russell Gibson, the city’s director of information and technology services. “City leadership continues to emphasize providing information access to citizens 24/7 and an open, transparent philosophy for conducting the people’s business. Technology is a crucial component of fulfilling these objectives.”

• The Cosmetic Surgery Center of Little Rock has recently been accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. “Seeking accreditation is just part of our mission to provide the safest, most state-of-the-art services to all of our patients,” said Dr. Rhys Branman, head surgeon at the center. “Whether they’re interested in body sculpting, laser treatments or breast augmentation, Little Rock women can trust us to deliver cutting-edge care.”
