NLR Shredding Company Comes to Customers

Owner Steve Daugherty of American Mobile Shredding LLC of North Little Rock offers clients two types of locked bins in which to store documents while they await shredding.

There’s a new company on four wheels helping to dispose of your documents on an everyday basis or available for a hefty annual cleanout.

American Mobile Shredding LLC was a natural extension for Steve Daugherty, who also owns American Imaging, a full-service document-management firm in North Little Rock.

“In spite of automation, the volume of business documents continues to grow, and the laws and regulations governing privacy and security are much more sensitive and strengthened,” Daugherty said. “It becomes more and more incumbent on businesses to be careful with that information and get rid of it in a secure manner.”

The mobile shredding business opened in May, rounding out the document-management services Daugherty provides his clients.

Certified by the National Association for Information Destruction, American Mobile Shredding offers two sizes of locked containers, which you keep secured on your premises. Then Daugherty’s big truck comes to you and shreds your documents on site.

In Arkansas, where people are friendly and often informal, Daugherty said it’s easy for businesses to become casual about information. While they are usually careful with large documents, they may forget about notes and other such records that contain sensitive information.

Operating out of American Imaging’s existing space, Daugherty said, all he had to do to get the new business rolling was invest in a truck, which he financed through one of his customers, First Security Bank in Little Rock, and pay for some advertising.
