Government

Blake Perry has been named interim president of the Arkansas Science & Technology Authority board of directors. Perry has been with the agency for four years, having served as vice president of research and executive vice president. In addition, Andy Capel has joined the agency’s staff as marketing manager for Arkansas Manufacturing Solutions. He has more than 14 years of marketing experience, including stints at the Little Rock Parks & Recreation Department, Outward Bound and the Hall Group.

Thurston Lamb of North Little Rock and Georgette Garner of Eureka Springs have been elected chairman and vice chairman, respectively, of the Keep Arkansas Beautiful Commission. Lamb was first appointed to the commission in 2002, and Garner joined the commission in 2007.

Health Care

Drs. Wassim Radwan and Miguel Villagra have earned board certifications in internal medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine. Both men are hospitalists who recently joined the White River Medical Center in Batesville.

Nonprofits

Joe Quinn and Tony Thomas have been named to the board of Goodwill Industries of Arkansas. Quinn is senior director of issue management at Wal-Mart, and Thomas is chief financial officer at Windstream.

Ruthanne Hill has been named executive director of the Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund. She succeeds the founder and 22-year director, Ralph H. Nesson, who will retire in February.

Heather Marie Wells, the education technology coordinator for Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, has been elected to serve a three-year term as director of the Southeast Museums Conference.

Real Estate

Zac Qualls and Brandi Sanders have joined Haag Brown Commercial of Jonesboro. Qualls has been hired as an executive adviser. Prior to the move, he served as a universal banker at IberiaBank. Sanders joined the company as an executive assistant. n
