The Wagner Medical Clinic announced last week it is building a 17,000-SF ambulatory care clinic in Manila (Mississippi County) that will cost more than $2 million.

Dr. Tommy Wagner is building the medical building for his family practice clinic and will lease space to St. Bernards Healthcare of Jonesboro, which will offer imaging, laboratory services and physical therapy, according to a news release from St. Bernards. St. Bernards also will provide specialty clinic services at the location.

The one-story clinic will sit on 16 acres on the west side of Manila and is projected to open in the fall, the news release said. The clinic will have 16 exam rooms and two procedure rooms.

Wagner opened a clinic in Manila in 2006. It will be replaced by the new one.

"This new facility will give us more room to care for the patients we see every day, more than doubling the number of patient exam rooms," Wagner said in the news release. "It also will allow us … to improve patient flow and to allow room to expand in order to accommodate adding pediatrics and internal medicine.”

The building was designed by John Mixon at Cromwell Architects Engineers of Little Rock. Mahon Construction of Bee Branch will be the general contractor.
