Income Per Capita Dropping in Central Arkansas

1 min read

Inflation-adjusted per capita income in central Arkansas dropped between 2008 and 2011, according to Metroplan’s recently released “Metro Trends: Economic Review and Outlook.” The 3.4 percent decrease was the same as that of the U.S. metro average, the report says.

The state as a whole and northwest Arkansas fared better.

“Pulaski County’s income has not yet regained its 2008 level, declining 6.6 percent after adjusting for inflation,” the report said. “Yet the region’s outlying counties saw modest income growth during these tough years.”
