The total vacancy rate for the central Arkansas commercial retail real estate market fell to 7.5 percent in the fourth quarter of 2012, compared with 7.7 percent during the third quarter and 8.6 percent during fourth-quarter 2011.

“The year-end market trends report reflects five consecutive quarters of positive absorption, totaling over 220,000 SF of new retail occupancy,” said Jeff Yates of Irwin Partners. “This absorption coincides with reported lease rates rising 3 percent over the same period.”
