EMDR Elite, an iPad app developed by Little Rock web developer Aristotle, was chosen as one of three finalists for the medical category in MediaPost Communications’ 2013 Appy Awards.

The winners were announced during the SXSW Interactive Conference in Austin, Texas, earlier this month.

Finalists for the various categories included companies both large and small. Walgreen’s, Fandango and Zillow were among those represented.

According to an Aristotle news release, the app “is a technological breakthrough” for eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy, which aids in treating disorders like PTSD. The app was designed and launched in fall 2012.

The winner for the medical category was Healthspek, a health care management app by rabble+rouser of Denver.
