The estate of Alexa Latimer Dillard, the widow of Dillard’s Inc. founder William T. Dillard and mother of the top leaders in the retail chain, recently filed her will and testament in the probate division of Pulaski County Circuit Court.

Alexa Dillard created the will in September 1991. Dillard said in the will that if her husband wasn’t alive at the time of her death, then her assets should be divided among her five children. He died in 2002.

Dillard’s daughters, Drue Matheny, an executive vice president at the Little Rock retailer, and Denise Mahaffy, a corporate vice president, will each receive 23 percent of Alexa Dillard’s assets. Her sons, William Dillard II, CEO of the company, President Alex Dillard and EVP Mike Dillard, are each to receive 18 percent. All five children were named executors of her estate.

Alexa Dillard died on Feb. 19 at the age of 96.
