The Denny’s restaurant at 4300 S. University Ave. is no more, after its owner-operator shut the doors and filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy.

Robert G. Dunnican of Kensett, represented by lawyer Randy Rice of Little Rock, filed the petition in mid-May.

Dunnican lists assets of $7,609.17 and liabilities of $183,145.60. Taxes account for more than $43,000 in secured claims, with the state of Arkansas holding the largest portion at $24,412. The Little Rock Advertising & Promotion Commission is owed $10,421 and the IRS, $8,362.50.

The restaurant had $1.1 million in gross receipts in 2010, $1 million in 2011 and 2012 and $241,000 year-to-date in 2013, according to the filing.

The closure leaves the eatery at 310 S. Shackleford Road as the only Denny’s in Little Rock.
