Arkansas Tech to Supplement Freshmen Scholarships

1 min read

RUSSELLVILLE – Eligible freshmen at Arkansas Tech are to get up to $1,000 in supplemental scholarship money for the coming academic year.

Officials at the Russellville campus announced Tuesday that the money will help cover a reduction for freshmen in the award amounts for recipients of Academic Challenge scholarships.

The Legislature approved a new funding formula for lottery-funded scholarships that awards freshmen $2,000, compared to $4,500 awarded the last two years. Lottery-funded awards increase by $1,000 per year, up to $5,000 for seniors.

Freshmen at Arkansas Tech getting lottery-funded scholarships can also get a $500 Pell Grant for the fall term. If they remain eligible in the spring, the university will award an additional $500.
