Chad Necessary has been named senior vice president and information systems security officer at Bank of the Ozarks in Little Rock. Necessary has 17 years of experience in information technology.

Karen M. Cash and Glenda L. Dean have been promoted to vice presidents at Simmons First Trust Co. Cash has nearly 16 years of experience at the company. She currently works as a manager of retirement plan services in Pine Bluff. Dean has more than 29 years of experience at Simmons First National Bank, with nearly half that time spent at the trust. She is currently a manager of corporate trust in Pine Bluff.

Greg Dalton has been promoted to senior vice president and director general accounting for the Bank of the Ozarks in Little Rock. Dalton has seven years of financial experience.

Karen Arnold has been hired as senior vice president and treasury management officer at Summit Bank in Arkadelphia. Arnold has 25 years of experience in banking. She was formerly a treasury management and payments consultant with Merchants & Planters Bank of Arkadelphia.

David B. Burks, who retired May 31 after 26 years as president of Harding University at Searcy, was honored by the board of trustees with the renaming of a major campus building as the David B. Burks American Heritage Building.

E. Scot Davis has been hired as the new CEO of Arkansas Urology in Little Rock. Prior to being chosen to replace retiring CEO John Hutton, Davis spent the last 13 years with the Northeast Arkansas Baptist Clinic in Jonesboro and Baptist Medical Group in Memphis. He has more than 18 years of executive experience in the health care field.

J. Cotten Cunningham, Frank B. Newell, Adam D. Reid, A. Cale Block and Larry O. Watkins have been hired by the Barber Law Firm in Little Rock. Cunningham has joined the firm’s litigation practice group. Newell has joined the firm’s workers’ compensation practice group. Reid has joined the firm’s estate planning and taxation practice. Block has joined the firm’s business and corporate law practice group. Watkins has joined the firm’s construction law practice group.

Ray Hobbs has been elected 2013-14 chair of Economics Arkansas of Little Rock, an education nonprofit that promotes economic literacy among schoolchildren. Hobbs is the CEO of Daisy Outdoor Products in Rogers. Kieth Williams has been elected EA’s 2013-14 president. Williams is the superintendent of the Bald Knob School District. Lindsay Carter, Jerry Guess, Bob Hamilton, Amy Johnson, Randy Lawson, Magen Olive, Chip Taulbee, Grant Tennille, Kristen Welk, Jerrod Williams, Kimberly Williams and Perry Wilson have been elected to serve on the nonprofit’s board of directors.
