Elizabeth Caldwell Takes Lead for UAMS Communications

Elizabeth Caldwell, a former journalist, worked for Stone Ward and Acxiom before joining UAMS.

As the director of news and communications, Elizabeth Caldwell will direct UAMS’ external communications, which entails overseeing news coverage, facilitating publicity about UAMS and working with the media. She will also help with strategic planning and executive communications, which includes producing the UAMS Journal, the biennial chancellor’s publication. She will work with the offices of institutional advancement and governmental relations.

Caldwell received her bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and spent 15 years working as a reporter for the Arkansas Democrat, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette and Stephens Media Group’s Arkansas News Bureau. She went on to work in public relations for Stone Ward and Acxiom Corp. Caldwell joined UAMS in 2004 as the managing editor of the UAMS News Bureau, which produces news releases, magazines and other writing about UAMS services, medical innovations and research.
