Midtown Billiards Gets New Main Street Neighbors

1 min read

A company headed by Carol Worley, Jarrod Parrish and Melissa Wood has bought the building at 1318 Main St. in downtown Little Rock, next to Midtown Billiards, the venerable and beloved bar and pool at 1316 Main.

Worley, a partner in the law firm of Worley Parrish & Wood, said she and her partners plan to relocate from west Little Rock to the second floor of the building, and Worley said she’d love to see a restaurant take the first floor. She touts the ample parking across the street.

Midtown, a private club perhaps best known for its competitive bottle tossing, keeps late/early hours: 3 p.m. to 5 a.m. In 2007, Esquire magazine honored it as a Best Bar in America, noting, “People arrive here drunk and leave wicked.”

We don’t know about that, but Worley said she was in the vicinity one early morning for her — late night for Midtown’s habitués — and the scene was “just like New Orleans.”
