LSB Industries Inc. of Oklahoma City said Wednesday that it will build a 375,000 ton per year ammonia plant in El Dorado.

The company said the cost of the plant will be between $250 million and $300 million, including the cost of additional support facilities. The project is for LSB's subsidiary, El Dorado Chemical Co.

The company expects the plant to be completed by 2015, provided it receives the necessary environmental permits and experiences no delays.

The announcement comes about nine months after the company announced plants to build a $120 million nitric acid plant in El Dorado.

LSB said it will fund the construction of the ammonia plant and support facilities from the net proceeds of the $425 million senior secured notes completed on Aug. 7. LSB manufactures and sells mostly climate control products like heat pumps and geothermal chillers.
