Update: Rogers Businessman Jim Bolt Arrested on Federal Complaint

1 min read

James William “Jim” Bolt, the ex-convict whose Rogers “cancer research center” was raided by federal authorities in June, was arrested Thursday evening on a federal complaint alleging wire fraud, mail fraud and money laundering.

Bolt, 60, was listed as an inmate in the Benton County Jail, having been booked in at 6:24 p.m. on Thursday. Benton County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Keshia Guyll said Friday that Bolt never had a mug shot taken because as soon as he arrived at the Benton County Jail, he was “taken to the hospital.”

She didn’t know why he was taken to the hospital, or any other details.

The complaint containing the allegations against Bolt will not be made public until after Bolt is arraigned. However, an affidavit filed last month in federal court outlined a scheme by which Bolt allegedly used fake documents to claim and then sell almost $1.9 million worth of stock that the state of California had listed as unclaimed property.

The affidavit was filed by FBI Special Agent Robert Cessario in support of a civil case that federal prosecutors filed seeking forfeiture of property seized in the raid — specifically, three pieces of real estate in Rogers, three cars, three vehicles used by Bolt’s Situs Cancer Research Center and five aircrafts.
