The ownership team behind popular Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken is looking for another location in Little Rock.

“We have been taking a look at a number of different sites, across Little Rock and across Arkansas to figure out where No. 2 might make sense, but there’s nothing to confirm as of yet,” Will Slabaugh told Whispers.

Slabaugh owns Gus’s No. 1 with Daniel Bryant and Carter and Jenny Malloy, all of Little Rock. Slabaugh works in the research department at Stephens Inc., as did Carter Malloy until fairly recently. Slabaugh said Malloy had left Stephens to join a hedge firm.

The Little Rock Gus’s, which opened to an enthusiastic reception in late May at 300 President Clinton Ave. in the River Market District, is the Memphis chain’s first franchise, said Slabaugh, whose research specialty at Stephens is the restaurant industry.
