LITTLE ROCK — The Transportation Security Administration plans to install an expedited passenger screening program at Clinton National Airport in Little Rock by the end of the year.
Frequent travelers selected by American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines and US Airways are eligible to participate. Southwest Airlines is expected to be added at a later date.
The program allows pre-approved travelers to leave on their shoes, light outerwear and belt, keep their laptop in its case and their 3-1-1 compliant liquids or gels bag in a carry-on in select screening lanes.
Ronald F. Mathieu, executive director of Clinton National, says the program should provide a much faster screening experience for frequent passengers. More than 15 million passengers have experienced the program since it was launched in 2011.
