Ritter Increases Grain Operations 60 Percent

1 min read

Ritter Grain Services, a division of Ritter Agribusiness, announced this week that it will begin operations at a grain storage facility in Otwell (Craighead County).

Ritter, based in Marked Tree, will lease the Otwell facility from Harvest Rice Inc. of Houston, said Ritter Grain CFO Alan Wright.

“This increases the overall capacity of our grain operations by 60 percent,” Wright said.

Wright said the facility can store 3.5 million bushels of grain and will bring three to five new jobs to the area. Ritter will receive, store and ship rice, wheat, corn and soybeans at the Otwell facility. Harvest Rice will continue to operate its milled rice packaging plant in Otwell.

“We look forward to providing the same high-quality, quick turnaround services to producers in the Otwell area that we currently provide in Marked Tree,” Ritter Grain Vice President Brian King said in a release.

“Our first change to the Otwell facility will be the addition of high-speed equipment in January 2014 to expedite unloading time and enabling maximum efficiencies for producers.”
