Betty Valachovic, Former ASAE President, Dies at 87

Betty Valachovic, former president of the Arkansas Society of Association Executives and the International Association of Optometric Executives, died Dec. 10. She was 87.

Valachovic was the first woman to serve as ASAE president and also the first woman to receive the group's highest honor for contributions to the profession of association management.

She was married to the late Ernest Valachovic, a former political reporter for the Arkansas Gazette who died in 1968 and with whom she had three children. She never remarried. 

A memorial service will be held at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home in Little Rock on Monday, Dec. 16, at 3 p.m. Visitation will begin at 2.
