Sally Murphy has been promoted to vice president, associate general counsel, chief compliance officer and assistant secretary at Life & Specialty Ventures LLC in Little Rock. Murphy has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, including stops at Mass Mutual and AIG.

Chris Prewitt has joined JPMS Cox PLLC in Little Rock as a tax manager.

Mac Cooke has been picked by AT&T to oversee the Arkansas and Oklahoma expansion of its new Digital Life service.

Agriculture

Aubra Anthony Jr., president and CEO of Anthony Forest Products Co. in El Dorado, has been appointed to a second term on the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Softwood Lumber Board as a representative of the U.S. South. The SLB is an industry-funded initiative established to promote softwood lumber products in outdoor, residential and non-residential construction.

Financial Services

Allen Williams has been hired as community president for the Jonesboro branch of First Community Bank. He most recently worked as a senior vice president for commercial lending at Liberty Bank of Arkansas, which was acquired by Centennial Bank in October.

Eric Hutchinson, president and founder of Hutchinson Financial Inc. in Little Rock, has been granted the Accredited Investment Fiduciary designation from the Center for Fiduciary Studies. The AIF designation signifies specialized knowledge of fiduciary responsibility and the ability to implement policies and procedures that meet a defined standard of care.

Laura Shelton has joined the Jonesboro branch of Evolve Bank & Trust of West Memphis. Shelton previously worked at Regions Mortgage, a division of Regions Financial Corp.

Real Estate

DeAnn Williams recently joined the Crye-Leike real estate agency in Benton. Williams has been selling real estate in Malvern and Hot Spring County for 14 years. Jennifer Hurley recently joined Crye-Leike’s North Little Rock branch, specializing in residential real estate sales and relocation.

Chris Ladner, founder and managing partner of Viridian in Little Rock, was recently named to the 2013 class of LEED Fellows by the U.S. Green Building Council. Ladner is the first green builder in Arkansas to receive the designation, with a portfolio that includes the Clinton Presidential Library and Bethel Middle School at Bryant, the first LEED K-12 School in Arkansas.

Nonprofits

Staci Croom-Raley, vice president of workforce development at Goodwill Industries of Arkansas Inc. in Little Rock, and Rhea Lana Riner of Rhea Lana Inc. in Conway recently received silver-level awards at the Stevie Awards for Women in Business in New York. Croom-Raley earned the Female Executive of the Year Award in the nonprofit/government category, and Riner received the Maverick of the Year Award.

Barry Sellers has joined the Sherwood Chamber of Commerce as the economic development director. Sellers has been the president, chief executive officer and executive director of the Gulf County Economic Development Alliance in Port St. Joe, Fla., since 2010. Prior to that, he was executive director of the Corning Economic Development Commission.

Darcy Ballew will become the vice president of communications at the Walton Arts Center in Fayetteville on Jan. 7. Ballew previously worked for Broadway Across America, the Cleveland Opera and Cirque du Soleil America Inc.
