Remember when we told you in November about the pending sale of the 2,856-acre Adolph Thomas Farm & Hunting Club in Prairie County?

The deal did indeed close in December as expected.

Price tag for the duck haven, with about 1,100 acres of timber, 1,060 acres of cropland and the famed 700-acre Thomas Reservoir No. 2?

$10.86 million.

Leland Tollett, retired chairman and CEO of Tyson Foods Inc., bought the property in the name of LET Varsity Farms LLC.

You might recall the seller was the Adolph Thomas Charitable Trust, whose prime beneficiary is the Arkansas Sheriffs’ Youth Ranches.
