The AWBC is a program of Winrock International and part of its BIG DEAL initiatives to provide technical assistance and training -- plus access to markets and sources of capital -- to small business owners.

The center is located on the campus of South Arkansas Community College. Young most recently worked for an agriculture-based business she started and managed in North Carolina.

"Liz brings enthusiasm and an entrepreneurial spirit to the Arkansas Women’s Business Center,"
said Lisa Davis, program officer for Winrock's U.S. Programs. "She has a vision for the center that will focus on empowering women to make informed decisions about successful business
ownership."

The AWBC was created by Winrock with funding from the U.S. Small Business Adminstration to provide technical assistance and training to women entrepreneurs. The center's services are available to entrepreneurs across the state and while its focus is on women, its services are not limited to them.
