Dana Mather was named acting director of Main Street Rogers on May 12 after the organization’s board of directors postponed a search for a full-time executive director.

Mather, 44, has been the interim director of Main Street Rogers since Kerry Jensen resigned in November to pursue other opportunities. Mather was a finalist for the full-time position when the board ended the search and named her acting director.

Mather said the board decided to hold off on naming a full-time executive director because the organization was in the process of devising its master plan for the future and wanted to have some flexibility to implement any plans.

"It’s a little bit of an odd situation, but hopefully it will be clarified," Mather said. "We’re a little bit more stabilized. We’re waiting to see what the master plan will tell us."

Main Street Rogers promotes the downtown area of Rogers in an effort to stimulate economic development. It had a staff of two before Mather was promoted from events coordinator when Jensen resigned, and Mather’s coordinator position has not been filled.

The organization is scheduled to move into the old city administration building this summer.
