Did you know another urgent care clinic is coming to Little Rock?

HealthCare Express of Texarkana, Texas, is expected to open a location in the Otter Creek area on June 30.

On the heels of that, it will open another clinic on Maumelle Boulevard in North Little Rock in the middle of September.

We also understand that HealthCare Express is scouting for other locations in Arkansas.

The doctors on staff will have a background in emergency room medicine. Patients suffering heart attacks, strokes or other major trauma should be rushed to the nearest ER. But relatively minor injuries — a simple bone fracture or a cut that needs stitches — can be treated at an urgent care clinics, which are promoted as a lower-priced alternatives to the hospital.

And they have been growing in Arkansas. Last year, Velocity Care of Shreveport opened an urgent care center in west Little Rock. (see More Urgent Care Centers Coming to Arkansas)

HealthCare Express’ Little Rock location isn’t its first for Arkansas. It opened one a year ago on the right side of Texarkana.

Founded in 2006, HealthCare Express has a total of seven locations in Texas and Louisiana and will soon have one in Oklahoma and New Jersey.
