1 min read

Reese Rowland, architect and principal at Polk Stanley Wilcox Architects of Little Rock, has been named a fellow of the American Institute of Architects, awarded to fewer than 4 percent of AIA members. He was one of 46 architects selected in the design category. The fellowship program honors architects who have made a significant contribution to architecture and their communities.

Rowland has received more than 50 state, regional and national awards. He is one of three Arkansas-based architects to have won an AIA Honor Award, the organization’s highest honor. Rowland’s design work has been published in 12 books and 25 national journals. His Little Rock portfolio includes Acxiom’s River Market Tower, the Arkansas Studies Institute, Heifer International’s headquarters building and Education Center, the Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce and the headquarters for Bank of the Ozarks. Heifer’s headquarters achieved the South’s first LEED platinum rating, and the building was named a Top 10 Green Project in the U.S. by the AIA. Under his direction, Polk Stanley Wilcox Architects was named a top 10 firm in 2008 by Architect Magazine. Arkansas Business named Rowland to its 25 Entrepreneurs & Innovators list in 2009.

In addition to his work as an architect, Rowland also lectures nationally on design works and presents at AIA conferences across the country. He received his architectural degree from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in 1990. Following graduation, he worked for six years at Wittenberg Delony & Davidson Architects in Little Rock.
